Energy is a line of business that requires international reinsurance placement beyond a certain size and requires placement in different reinsurance markets than conventional fire insurance. Even within itself, electricity generation and the exploration, extraction and processing of natural resources or the distribution of electricity require placement in different reinsurance markets. Risk engineering studies on energy also require different competencies from classical fire.
